How to choose an Insurance Broker

Choosing the right insurance broker is important for your business.  A good business insurance broker will be able to advise you what insurance you need as your business grows.  As a business owner, you need to be confident that they will offer you the best advice to protect your livelihood.

There are a number of factors that you might like to consider when you choose a business insurance broker:

• Does the insurance broker understand your type and size of business?
• Do they have a broad knowledge of the insurance market and do you have confidence that they will be able to source you a competitive deal?
• Are the quotes they have given you competitive?  Do they seem reasonable for the levels of cover you are getting?
• Are they an established insurance broker or do they have a partnership with one? 
• Has someone you know used the insurance broker?  It’s often a good idea to get a personal recommendation.
• Are they local to you?  If they’re not it might be difficult to have face-to-face meetings.
