Offices - what can go wrong?

Theft

An office was broken into and several computers were stolen, along with the keys to the premises.  The cost of replacing the locks to the premises was included as part of the claim for the theft of the computers under the office's business insurance.  The insurer also paid the cost of materials and clerical labour incurred in reproducing the computer systems records on the replacement equipment.

Damage

A motor vehicle crashed into the office premises and damaged the structure of the building.  The cost of making the building safe and its subsequent repair, including the cost of a building surveyor's fee, were covered under the buildings section of the office's insurance policy.

These are only examples.  The circumstances of each claim vary and are subject to the terms and conditions of the policy wording
